GROUND TEST - GROUND TEST - GROUND TEST

Rincon Rocketry's testing and compatibility results are not meant to replace user testing.  With numerous ematch products on the market we want to demonstrate and document results with products that we have found to be reliable under stressed conditions with the Control flight controller.

4 x 4 Ematch Test Procedure:

• New Duracell 9v Alkaline battery used for each test
• All ematches are checked with a digital multi-meter to confirm continuity and nominal resistance for the ematch.
• 4 ematches are wired in parallel to each pyro channel (16 ematches total)
• The Control is configured with a ground or flight test profile for the ematch validation.  The test is configured to fire the pyro channels sequentially on three second intervals
• Control is powered on, self test complete, unit is armed and awaiting launch detection.  At this time the test goes "On-Hold" for 90 minutes to simulate a delayed launch.
• After the 90 minute hold, the test is initiated by either launching the test rocket or activating a ground launch test procedure.
• The ematches are expected to "All Fire" simultaneously during the programmed firing sequence.  The channels fire in three second intervals; Airstart-Peak-Main-Aux. 
• All ematches are inspected post test to ensure that the ematch fired.

A failure of any single ematch or a channel not firing will be considered a failed test.  Any product failing multiple tests will not be considered reliable, and will not be listed as a compatible product. 

Any ematch or airstart igniter must first pass the ground test procedure before a flight test procedure will be flown.

NOTE:  Any product not listed does not mean that the product failed testing.  It simply may not have been tested.  We have limited testing capabilities and will on post results of ematches or airstart igniters that were actually tested.  We highly recommend that you ground test and evaluate any product prior to using on an actual flight.
